Manzambi Header Secures Villa Victory Over Newcastle and Milestone for Emery

Aston Villa secured a crucial away victory against Newcastle United as Johan Manzambi scored the game's only goal with a 36th-minute header. The decisive moment arrived when Manzambi connected with a cross from Joao Gomes, capitalising on space inside the penalty area to find the back of the net.

The result holds special significance for Aston Villa manager Unai Emery, who reached a major career landmark with his 100th win in the Premier League. Emery achieved the milestone in his 197th match in the competition, cementing his status among the fastest managers to reach the century mark.

For Newcastle, the defeat compounds a difficult period under head coach Matthias Jaissle following a heavy loss to Coventry City earlier in the week. The hosts struggled to generate momentum in the first half and were met with boos from home supporters at the interval.

Manzambi nearly joined Newcastle from Freiburg during the summer transfer window before completing a move to Villa Park instead. The 21-year-old Switzerland midfielder has made an immediate impact since arriving in a club-record deal exceeding £50 million, further demonstrating his value to Emery's evolving squad.
